Answer: The Spinomed® III was granted Medicare HCPCS L code L0456 on July 3, 2007 based on SADMERC review of the product. A copy of the L code letter is currently available upon request and will soon be available at a link on the Medi USA website at www.medisua.com.

3. How do I measure for the Spinomed® III?
Answer: Measure, following the curves of the spine, from S1 to C7. Make sure your patient is standing as upright as possible. The Spinomed® III is available in four sizes and the proper size is the longest one available that falls with-in that measurement. Proper sizing allows for he lower straps to attach just below the hip bone and the upper edge of the posterior aluminum frame to be three to five centimeters below C7.

4. Who can fit my patient with the Spinomed® III?
Answer: The Spinomed® III is a ready to fit product that must be custom fit to each patient. It is therefore recommeded that only trained orthopaedic product providers fit and train the patient on proper application. Medi USA employed ssales representativesdo not fit patients with the Spinomed® but can provide the training necessary for the licensed provider of these types of products.
5. What is the Medicare coverage for the Spinomed® III?
Answer: Medi USA sells the Spinomed® III to licensed providers only. Cost to the patient is determined by the licensed provider using Medicare billing code L0456 as a guide.
6. How long does my patient need to wear the Spinomed® III?
Answer: Wearing time is determined by your patient's condition and the recommendations provided by the physician. A very successful protocol was developed and used in the study of the Spinomed and its effectiveness which was published in the American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, March 2004.
