I was initially diagnosed with lymphedema at age 29 after battling cancer for three years and having my lymph nodes removed. I was a young wife and mom and was determined to figure out how to manage this disability so I could continue enjoying my life as a busy boy mom.
What has helped me the most are making sure I have the right garments that control the swelling. This has been a game changer! For years, I didn’t understand the importance of compression garments and was embarrassed to wear them.
When I began to realize that the garments are increasing my quality of life and allowing me to do more, I stopped hiding and began recommending them on social media platforms. Lymphedema is not a part of my story I would’ve asked for but knowing that I’m able to keep it under control has been a huge blessing for our family!
